Maestro! Music, please...

To aid us in communicating with Gwendolyn, we've been introducing her to a bit of baby sign language. While she seems to understand what we're getting at most times, she rarely uses the signs herself at this stage -- except with the sign we've shown her for "music." She will wave one or both of her index fingers back and forth like a conductor when she hears music playing, and when it's quiet, she'll use the sign to request music to accompany her playing or eating.

This photo is a perfect example of the latter: Gwendolyn in her booster seat, requesting a little music to go along with her dinner.
