We're happy to report that despite the chilly, wet weather, our hummingbird chicks seem to be doing well. They are quickly getting too big for their little nest, and the beginnings of their distinctive green colouring is appearing on their back feathers.
Mama hummingbird is now leaving the nest for much longer periods of time, presumably to find more and more food for her hungry family. For those of you who are interested, we've determined that she and her chicks are Anna's hummingbirds.
