The old adage that the simplest toys are the best is regularly proven true by Gwendolyn. Today's simple toy: a bowl of sudsy water and a whisk. There are hours of fun to be had -- swishing the water, spreading the suds all over ourselves, using the sudsy water to 'wash' the table, chairs and patio floor etc. etc.
You'll notice the stuffed toy presiding over the activities -- Monkey is Gwendolyn's companion of choice these days and more often than not, Daddy is instructed to have Monkey participate in whatever activity is going on: "Monkey draw flowers." "Monkey play in water." And Monkey's paws have to be wrapped around the crayon/whisk/book so he can play, too. It's quite cute how intent Gwendolyn is on including Monkey in her day to day activities.
