Big girl stairs

As promised, here's a film of Gwendolyn and Mama climbing stairs the big girl way. We're not sure why there was a fuss at the beginning; perhaps G. had found something very interesting around the corner and was put off that she had to leave it and perform for the camera.

While the exclamation of a number by Gwendolyn while climbing the stairs is not uncommon, there is no telling which number it will be. Sometimes it's "eight!"; sometimes it's "six!" or "three!" or...

Notice the "one foot, one stair" method. It doesn't matter how deep the tread or high the rise, it must be one foot per stair. As you will see by stair #13, the technique results in some mis-steps...

One thing that is uncommon: Gwendolyn's desire to climb the stairs only once. Often it is three or four times in a row -- complete with climbing down the big girl way -- before she gets tired and wants to stop. Practice makes perfect, it seems!
